Hosted Checkouts

Hosted Checkouts in PYMNT provide a ready-to-use payment page that allows merchants to accept payments without building their own checkout experience.

They are designed to be fast to integrate, fully secure, and consistent across all payment methods supported by PYMNT.

What is a hosted checkout?

A hosted checkout is a fully managed payment flow provided by PYMNT.

Instead of building and maintaining your own payment UI, you redirect customers to a secure PLTFRMS-hosted page where they can complete their payment.

How it works

A typical hosted checkout flow works as follows:

  1. A checkout session is created via the PYMNT API
  2. The customer is redirected to a hosted checkout URL
  3. The customer selects a payment method and completes the payment
  4. The result is sent back to PYMNT in real time
  5. The customer is redirected back to the merchant (optional)

Supported payment methods

Hosted checkouts support multiple payment methods depending on merchant configuration, including:

  • Card payments (credit & debit)
  • Mobile wallets (e.g. Apple Pay, Google Pay)
  • Bank transfers (where supported)
  • Other region-specific payment methods

Customisation

While the checkout is hosted, it can still be customised to match the merchant’s brand.

Supported customisation options may include:

  • Branding (logo, colors, and styling)
  • Redirect URLs after payment completion
  • Language and localisation settings
  • Displayed payment methods

This allows a seamless experience while maintaining full control over payment processing.

Security and compliance

Hosted checkouts are built on top of the regulated PYMNT infrastructure, ensuring:

  • PCI-compliant payment handling
  • No sensitive card data handled by merchant systems
  • Secure processing via accredited PSP partners
  • Funds safeguarded through a licensed stichting derdengelden

Integration with PYMNT

Hosted checkouts integrate directly with other PYMNT components:

  • Merchants and onboarding
  • Orders and invoices
  • Payments and payouts
  • Event-driven workflows for real-time updates

This ensures all payment activity is tracked and consistent across the platform.

Use cases

Hosted checkouts are typically used for:

  • E-commerce transactions
  • Digital product sales
  • Service payments
  • One-time purchases
  • Subscription sign-ups (initial payment flow)

Why hosted checkouts matter

Hosted checkouts remove the complexity of building and maintaining payment infrastructure.

They provide:

  • Fast integration with minimal development effort
  • Secure, compliant payment handling out of the box
  • Consistent user experience across all merchants
  • Full compatibility with the PYMNT ecosystem
