Payouts

Payouts in PYMNT handle the transfer of funds from a merchant’s processed payments to their designated bank account.

They represent the final step in the payment lifecycle, where collected funds are settled and made available to the merchant.

Prerequisites for payouts

Before any payout can be executed, a merchant must meet the following conditions:

  • The merchant must be fully onboarded and approved
  • All required compliance and KYC checks must be completed
  • The merchant must have an active, verified payout configuration

Without successful onboarding, payouts are not enabled.

Supported payout destinations

Payouts can only be made to business bank accounts.

Before a payout destination becomes active, the bank account (or clearing account) must be:

  • Properly registered under the merchant
  • Verified and validated by the system
  • Approved through compliance and risk checks

This ensures that funds are always sent to legitimate and controlled accounts.

Payout lifecycle

A payout typically follows this flow:

  • Pending β€” payout is created and scheduled
  • Processing β€” funds are being prepared for transfer
  • Sent β€” payout has been executed via banking infrastructure
  • Completed β€” funds have been successfully delivered
  • Failed β€” payout could not be completed and requires review

Each stage is tracked within PYMNT for full transparency.

Validation of bank accounts

To ensure security and compliance, all payout bank accounts must go through validation.

This may include:

  • Account ownership verification
  • IBAN or account number validation
  • Business identity matching
  • Additional compliance checks where required

Only validated accounts can receive payouts.

Scheduling and frequency

Payouts can be configured based on merchant preferences and eligibility, such as:

  • Scheduled payouts (e.g. daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Manual payout triggers
  • Threshold-based payouts (e.g. minimum balance reached)

The exact configuration depends on the merchant’s risk profile and agreement settings.

Compliance and financial safeguarding

All payouts are processed through regulated financial infrastructure, including:

  • Accredited Payment Service Provider (PSP)
  • Licensed stichting derdengelden for safeguarding funds
  • Compliance and fraud monitoring systems

This ensures that funds are handled securely at all times before being transferred.

Why payouts matter

Payouts complete the payment lifecycle within PYMNT.

They ensure:

  • Merchants receive their funds securely
  • Financial flows remain compliant and traceable
  • Payments processed through the platform are properly settled
  • Trust in the financial system is maintained
